The course is designed to provide the required knowledge and skills to prepare for small fire emergency situations, identify, assess, and safely contain a small workplace fire (where possible), use initial response equipment on small un-established workplace fires, and confidently report the situation to appropriate persons in a timely manner. The course includes an introduction to fire extinguishers, fire blankets, fire hydrants and hoses, and other equipment that might be available in your workplace.

Target Audience

The ready2work HSE series is designed for all staff and will typically follow from the ready2start series. With a basic grounding from the associated courses in that range, we can now focus on specific hazards and more detail. Workers should complete these courses at the very start of their employment and most titles would need to be refreshed every one or two years based on workplace requirements to ensure they are updated with the latest protocols and practices.

Learning Outcomes

Gain insights into common causes of fires, fire classifications, and the fire triangle concept to effectively assess and respond to fire incidents. Learn various methods to extinguish fires, including the proper use of portable extinguishers, PASS technique, and utilisation of fire hoses, hydrants, and deluge systems.
