Challenging the misconception that slips, trips, and falls (STFs) are merely embarrassing, this course outlines the common hazards of slips, trips, and falls (STFs) in the workplace, providing practical guidance on identifying risks and implementing effective control measures to prevent slip and trip incidents, and falls from heights up to 2 metres.
The ready2work HSE series is designed for all staff and will typically follow from the ready2start series. With a basic grounding from the associated courses in that range, we can now focus on specific hazards and more detail. Workers should complete these courses at the very start of their employment and most titles would need to be refreshed every one or two years based on workplace requirements to ensure they are updated with the latest protocols and practices.
Recognise the conditions that contribute to these incidents, including slippery surfaces, obstacles, uneven flooring, and poor lighting. Learn proactive measures to minimise the risk of STFs, includng maintaining cleanliness, promptly addressing spills, ensuring walkways are clear, and using proper signage to warn of hazards. Ensure that all employees understand their roles and responsibilities in maintaining a safe work environment.
