The activities in this pathway provide an overview of what is meant by suitability. You will look at some of the key considerations around the suitability test such as a firms obligation when assessing suitability, the types of client and products to which the suitability test applies, gathering information for the suitability test and also what reports and record-keeping tasks must be completed.

- explain which clients the suitability test applies to and why clients are categorised
- state what information can be used to assess suitability
- identify which reports must be completed and the record-keeping requirement.
